As co-founder of a successful home furnishings retailer, Andre Dickens know what it takes to create better jobs for Atlantans and help local business thrive. Dickens’ leadership on the city council will continue to help Atlanta become establish itself as a destination for growing businesses. In his second term Council-member Dickens is focused on ensuring that while Atlanta continues to entice Fortune 100 enterprises, we remain diligent in our support and recognition of the Small Businesses that employ so many Atlantans.
While on the Atlanta City Council, Dickens’ has done the following:
- Co-sponsored and passed legislation requiring the city move to $15/hr within 3 years.
- Sponsors and hosts the “Blacks In Tech” policy conference, focused on advancing the efforts to bring more diversity to STEM fields.
- As the Invest Atlanta Board Secretary, 21,000 new jobs and $3.3 billion of capital invested into Atlanta.
